![]() ![]() Contour shades should be cool in tone as they’re designed to mimic natural shadow, and natural shadow isn’t a warm chocolate brown colour. In terms of tone, I find the Fair/Medium shade to be a lot warmer than I expected it to be. You then have to go in and blend the product in with either a brush like the Zoeva Face Shape Brush or a beauty sponge. You literally just have to swipe the sponge wherever you want to contour, and it does look quite deep once first swiped onto the skin. I, much prefer a cream contour, which is why I thought the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand would work well within my makeup routine. However on the Charlotte Tilbury website, it lists the lightest shade as being Light to Medium, which is a shade that doesn’t actually exist, so I’d recommend perhaps swatching instore beforehand to ensure you’re getting the right shade for your skintone. I find the Charlotte Tilbury website to be confusing because I have the palest shade Fair/Medium, which is printed on the tube and the outer box. I’m not sure how long 12ml would last, especially if you’re using it daily to contour your cheekbones, forehead, jawline and nose which is perhaps more product than you’d apply with a concealer, and I find concealers last me for around three months. I have to say the packaging looks a lot more luxurious than it feels, and I have to be honest it doesn’t feel like a nearly £30 product. The first time you use it, you have to squeeze firmly in order to get the product to penetrate the foam, domed applicator. The tube feels hollow and empty, and to use the product you have to twist the brown plastic section under the applicator, and the product then seeps through the sponge, to work as the best contour product. The packaging is quite big, so I was really surprised that it only contains 12ml of product. It has really sleek packaging, with a bronze coloured plastic tube, a rose gold plastic lid and a sponge applicator where the product seeps through, so you can apply the contour makeup directly to the skin. The Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand is £29 and available from Cult Beauty.
